Feeding Habits
Yellow-bellied Warbler feeds predominantly on tiny invertebrates, including spiders, dipteran flies, mosquitoes, and butterfly eggs. It forages mainly in the understorey, moving up to the canopy and along creepers, gleaning from foliage and catching insects mid-flight. Outside breeding season, yellow-bellied Warbler may form small groups or join mixed-species flocks, but less frequently than related species.
Habitat
The yellow-bellied Warbler typically resides in dense undergrowth within evergreen forests, often near bamboo thickets and streambanks. Its preferred environments are the lower hills, mountain foothills, and adjacent plains. This species is less commonly found in secondary scrub areas.
