Habitat
The slaty-backed Thornbill is commonly found in habitats such as mulga woodland with dense understorey of emu-bush, predominantly across arid and semi-arid zones. These birds prefer mixed-age mulga terrains and are also present in areas with spinifex or saltbush, as well as thriving in dense vegetation surrounding waterholes, except for mallee ecosystems.
