Description
The streak-throated barwing (Actinodura waldeni) is a species of bird in the family Leiothrichidae. It is found in western Yunnan, southern Tibet, Northeast India and Myanmar. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Streak-throated Barwing's diet consists of insects, molluscs, fruits, berries, seeds, flower buds, and nectar from rhododendron flowers. They forage alone or in small groups, joining mixed-species bird waves. Streak-throated Barwing searches for food in the middle storey of trees and bushes, dismantling moss and lichen to uncover prey.
Habitat
The streak-throated Barwing inhabits mossy broadleaf evergreen and mixed forests, including oak and rhododendron woodlands, as well as fir and hemlock forests. It is also found in areas with prevalent bamboo growth. These birds reside in montane regions within broader geographical areas of the Indian Subcontinent, adapting seasonally by altering their altitude preferences.
