Description
The sooty bushtit (Aegithalos fuliginosus) is a species of bird in the family Aegithalidae. It is endemic to central China. Its natural habitat is temperate forests. It can also be known as the white-necklaced tit, white-necklaced bushtit, or the sooty tit.

Feeding Habits
Sooty Bushtit predominantly consume insects and berries, foraging mainly in the shrub layer. In non-breeding seasons, they form large, agile groups, sometimes comprising up to 40 members, to seek food together.
Habitat
The habitat of sooty Bushtit typically includes mixed forests rich with fir trees and dense deciduous shrubs near watercourses, encompassing species like willows and birches. These areas often feature an ample bamboo understorey and rhododendrons, with some populations residing in forests dominated by prickly oak. Generally favoring lower temperate zones, sooty Bushtit may extend into subtropical regions, predominantly outside the breeding season.
