Description
The Javan sunbird or scarlet sunbird (Aethopyga mystacalis) is a species of bird in the family Nectariniidae. It is endemic to Java and Bali, Indonesia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Javan Sunbird's diet primarily includes nectar and small arthropods. They typically forage in pairs within the upper forest canopy, demonstrating a preference for elevated feeding grounds.
Habitat
Javan Sunbird primarily inhabits tropical forests, including both primary hill dipterocarp forest and lower montane forest. They are also found in secondary forests and forest-edge environments. These birds favor regions with ample forest cover, typically at higher altitudes, but they can also be seen occasionally in lower areas close to sea level.
