Description
The black-throated sunbird (Aethopyga saturata) is a species of bird in the family Nectariniidae. It is found in the Indian Subcontinent and adjoining regions of Southeast Asia, ranging across Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Black-throated Sunbird primarily consumes nectar, especially from Aeschynanthus, Rhododendron, and Lantana, and may eat pollen and arthropods. Typically forages alone or in pairs, ranging from canopy to understorey and occasionally on the ground. The bird also engages in nectar-robbing.
Habitat
The black-throated Sunbird is predominantly found in a variety of forest habitats, encompassing primary and heavily disturbed forests, as well as areas undergoing regeneration into secondary growth. It thrives along the dense edges of jungles, within brushy scrublands, and in cultivated gardens. This species also frequents regions adjacent to shady streams, making a diverse array of vegetative environments its home.
