Description
The yellow-winged blackbird (Agelasticus thilius) is a species of bird in the family Icteridae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are swamps, intertidal marshes, and pastureland.

Feeding Habits
Yellow-winged Blackbird primarily consume insects (78% of diet) and seeds (22%). They forage in flocks, feeding on beetles, caterpillars, spiders, crustaceans, and molluscs, as well as seeds from grasses and sedges. They search for food along water edges and in marshes, often probing in stems.
Habitat
The yellow-winged Blackbird primarily inhabits marshes and wetlands, particularly areas rich in emergent aquatic vegetation such as cat-tails, bulrush, and reeds. It can also be found in adjacent grasslands and agricultural lands, as well as tolerating slightly brackish conditions in marshes. The species is also noted to establish in treeless regions. Yellow-winged Blackbird typically roosts within the dense marsh vegetation.
