Description
The short-tailed grasswren (Amytornis merrotsyi) is a species of bird in the family Maluridae. It is endemic to Australia. Its natural habitats are temperate shrubland and rocky areas.

Short-tailed Grasswren, likely sharing similarities with A. striatus, primarily forages for seeds and insects. Typically seen alone or in small units, short-tailed Grasswren exhibits unique foraging strategies adapted for its grassland habitat.
Habitat
The habitat of short-tailed Grasswren predominantly consists of Triodia hummock grasslands adorning stony hillsides, ridges, and rocky terrain such as gullies and gorges.
