Feeding Habits
Hooded Mountain Toucan primarily consumes fruits of undetermined species, identifiable by various colored seeds and skins in their stomachs. They forage alone or in small groups, from canopy to understory, indicating adaptable feeding behaviors within the forest strata.
Habitat
The hooded Mountain Toucan is typically found in wet temperate and uppermost subtropical forests that provide a moist and dense canopy characteristic of mountainous regions. These areas support the rich vegetation and biodiversity that is essential for the hooded Mountain Toucan's survival, including food sources and nesting sites. The species tends to inhabit regions that are generally higher and less accessible than the territories preferred by many other toucans.
