Description
The Jamaican mango (Anthracothorax mango) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is endemic to Jamaica. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and heavily degraded former forest. Although it has a limited range, it is not considered endangered, as its numbers are not decreasing.

Feeding Habits
Jamaican Mango, a hummingbird species, predominantly feeds on nectar. It complements its diet with small arthropods, showcasing a varied diet. This bird exhibits specialized feeding behaviors like hovering to extract nectar, and has a preference for certain flowers' nectar.
Habitat
Jamaican Mango typically inhabits a wide range of open and semi-open lowland environments. This includes arid landscapes, cultivated gardens, and plantation areas, favoring locations that provide ample feeding opportunities. Jamaican Mango is often found along forest edges from sea level up to elevations of 800 meters. While regularly observed at the natural edges of wet mid-altitude and elfin forests at elevations of 900 to 1500 meters, it is more scarce within mangrove ecosystems. Jamaican Mango shows adaptability in occupying various lowland habitats across its broader geographical range.
