Description
Hellmayr's pipit (Anthus hellmayri) is a species of bird in the family Motacillidae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are temperate grassland, subtropical or tropical high-altitude grassland, and pastureland.

Hellmayr's Pipit's habitat ranges across diverse open landscapes including Puna and Pampas grasslands, rugged terrains, and agricultural areas. Preferring moist grasslands in the Puna zone, they are also found on dry grassy hills and utilize farmland in the east. Breeding environments feature secondary grasslands and regions with sparse thickets. They thrive particularly in freshly burned areas with short grass and exposed soil.
