The upland pipit (Anthus sylvanus) is a species of bird in the family Motacillidae. It is found in Afghanistan, China, Hong Kong, India, Nepal, and Pakistan.

Feeding Habits
Upland Pipit primarily consumes small invertebrates, foraging on the ground while maintaining a horizontal posture. Exhibits unique tail-flicking behavior when startled and prefers an upright stance when disturbed.
Habitat
The upland Pipit typically inhabits rocky and grassy slopes peppered with occasional bushes or rocks and may also be found in areas of abandoned terrace farming. These environments are often intertwined with coniferous woodlands, including regions with chir pine or blue pine. During the non-breeding season, the upland Pipit tends to occupy similar habitats but generally at lower elevations.
