Description
The rusty-fronted canastero (Asthenes ottonis) is a species of bird in the family Furnariidae. It is endemic to Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forest and subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland.

Feeding Habits
Rusty-fronted Canastero primarily consumes arthropods, foraging alone or in pairs by gleaning from the ground or low vegetation. Feeding behavior is specialized but not well-documented.
Habitat
Rusty-fronted Canastero typically inhabits environments characterized by arid and semi-humid montane scrub as well as the edges of Polylepis woodlands. These areas are generally composed of shrubby vegetation adapted to drier conditions and woodlands featuring the Polylepis genus, known for their resilience in high-altitude terrains.
