Description
The white-winged brushfinch (Atlapetes leucopterus) is a species of bird in the family Passerellidae. It is found in Ecuador and Peru. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, and heavily degraded former forest.

The white-winged Brushfinch typically inhabits dry to fairly humid brushy areas, low woodlands, and may be found in very dry shrubby hillsides with scattered trees. It often occupies regions adjacent to gardens, villages, and shrubbery on the edges of humid forests, including the peripheries of cloud forests.
