The dusky-backed jacamar (Brachygalba salmoni) is a species of bird in the family Galbulidae. It is found in Colombia and Panama. Its natural habitats are subtropical and tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest.

Its preferred altitudinal range encompasses both lowland terrains and hilly areas, extending upwards to roughly 700 meters.
