Description
The adult long-billed corella measures from 38 to 41 cm in length, has a wingspan around 80–90 cm, and averages 567 g in weight. It has a long, bone-coloured beak, and a rim of featherless, bluish skin around the eyes. The plumage is predominantly white with reddish feathers around the eyes and lores. The underside of the wings and tail feathers are tinged with yellow.

Feeding Habits
Long-billed Corella mainly forage on the ground, excavating roots, seeds, corms, and bulbs, with a preference for onion grass and murnong. They have adapted to include introduced plants in their diet and also consume sunflower seeds.
Habitat
Long-billed Corella typically inhabit grassy woodlands and grasslands characterized by the presence of trees such as Eucalyptus camaldulensis, E. fasciculosa, E. ovata, E. melliodora, and E. microcarpa. They are well-adapted to areas receiving annual rainfall between 250–800 mm, predominantly during the winter months. This species thrives in habitats that include pastoral lands, fields of agricultural crops and urban parks, showcasing its adaptability. Despite originally residing in specific temperate regions, their range has expanded, showcasing their ability to adapt to various environmental conditions.

The long-billed corella can be found in the wild in Victoria and southeastern New South Wales. It has extended its range in the past 20 years and can now be found in Tasmania, Adelaide and southeast Queensland. A feral population resides in Perth which has implications, as this species may hybridize with the endangered western corella. The long-billed corella is found in grassy woodlands and grasslands, including pasture, fields of agricultural crop, and urban parks.
