Feeding Habits
The Lazuline Sabrewing lazuline Sabrewing consumes nectar from flowers like ericads, Heliconia, and Hibiscus, and hunts arthropods mid-air or on foliage. Lazuline Sabrewing employs trap-lining and guarding strategies in forest layers and visits flowering trees. Unique to lazuline Sabrewing is drinking from water-trapped Heliconia bracts.
