Feeding Habits
Sinai Rosefinch consumes seeds, buds, shoots, and leaves, favoring seeds from plants like yellow bugloss and figs. Nestlings are fed regurgitated seeds. Sinai Rosefinch forages primarily on the ground, sometimes in bushes or on structures, and forms flocks, occasionally interspersed with other sparrows. Unique behavior includes flying long distances for water.
Habitat
The sinai Rosefinch typically inhabits dry, barren mountainous areas with scant vegetation, including hillside and valley scrub, as well as the edges of stony and rocky deserts. This bird also resides in wadis, steep cliffs, gorges, and narrow valleys within such rugged terrains. During the non-breeding season, proximity to a water source becomes crucial for the sinai Rosefinch.
