Description
The white-naped monarch (Carterornis pileatus) is a species of bird in the family Monarchidae. It is endemic to Indonesia, where it occurs in the Maluku Islands. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

Feeding Habits
White-naped Monarch primarily consumes small invertebrates, foraging actively in the middle and upper canopy. They glean insects from foliage and exhibit hovering behavior to pick prey off leaves. White-naped Monarch may forage alone, in pairs, or in single-sex groups within mixed-species flocks.
Habitat
The white-naped Monarch typically inhabits semi-evergreen forests in lowland and hill regions, which can include areas that have been partially logged as well as the edges of these forests. It is also found in the peripheries of swamp forests and in dry forests characterized by the presence of the Melaleuca leucadendra tree. Additionally, the white-naped Monarch may occupy areas adjacent to agricultural land.
