Feeding Habits
Grey Antbird feeds mostly on insects like beetle larvae, orthopterans, and spiders. This bird forages in dense foliage, 8-20 meters high, often concealed and difficult to observe. Its foraging involves short hops and pauses, gleaning prey from vegetation, sometimes tearing apart leaves or fluttering down to extract caterpillars from silk webs.
Habitat
The grey Antbird typically inhabits vine tangles found in the subcanopy and mid-storey levels, including the canopy of mid-height trees, within lowland evergreen forests. These birds favor forest environments that maintain perennial foliage throughout the year.
