Feeding Habits
Jet Antbird primarily feeds on insects, including lepidopteran larvae and spiders, employing ground foraging techniques to hunt prey, with unique adaptations for feeding in dense undergrowth.
Habitat
Jet Antbird typically inhabits the understorey and mid-storey layers of humid and semi-humid forests, frequenting dense thickets and shrubby borders, often where vines are abundant. Its favored environments also include the edges of deciduous forests, adjacent tall secondary growth, and regions near swampy areas or overgrown plantations when close to forests. The species is adapted to lowland regions but can be found up to elevations of 1400 meters in the Andes.
