Description
The Sikkim treecreeper (Certhia discolor) is a species of bird in the treecreeper family. It is found in Bhutan, Nepal and Northeast India. Its natural habitats are temperate forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. The form C. d. manipurensis of southern Manipur and southwestern Burma has a rich cinnamon throat and breast, and molecular evidence and is usually now treated as a separate species, the Hume's treecreeper, C. manipurensis Hume, 1850.

14 cm
Feeding Habits
Sikkim Treecreeper primarily consumes insects and spiders. It forages alone or in pairs, moving jerkily on trees while extracting prey from crevices. In non-breeding season, sikkim Treecreeper may join groups in mixed-species flocks for foraging.
Habitat
The sikkim Treecreeper primarily inhabits mature broadleaf forests, embracing both deciduous and evergreen varieties. These forests are often characterized by the presence of mossy oak trees and, to a lesser extent, rhododendrons. The species is associated with the broader geographical regions of the Himalayas and the adjacent ranges, preferring forest environments that facilitate its unique foraging and nesting behaviors.
