Feeding Habits
Rusty-flanked Treecreeper primarily feeds on arthropods, foraging alone or in pairs, and occasionally in small flocks. It prefers trunks and lower branches, often searching under large boughs and among epiphytes. Unique for not frequently joining mixed-species groups unlike other treecreepers.
Habitat
The rusty-flanked Treecreeper's habitat is characterized by moist broadleaf evergreen forests, notably oak and rhododendron, extending to coniferous and mixed deciduous woodlands. This species generally prefers upper temperate forests but also utilizes the lower temperate broadleaf forests during winter.
