Description
The jungle dwarf kingfisher (Ceyx erithaca) is a small kingfisher that occurs in tropical rain forest.

Habitat
Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher typically dwells in small streams situated within dense forests, preferring shaded regions with an abundance of greenery. This species is known to inhabit primary and old secondary broadleaved evergreen forests and seems to avoid heavily disturbed areas or recently logged forests, except during migratory periods. Broader geographical regions where oriental Dwarf Kingfisher is found include northeastern India and the Western Ghats, as well as limestone forests in south China, illustrating its presence across a variety of forested landscapes in Asia. Typically, oriental Dwarf Kingfisher can be found at elevations of up to 915 meters within these regions, indicating a preference for lower elevation tropical environments.
