The white-bellied emerald (Chlorestes candida) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is found in Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. This species was formerly placed in the genus Amazilia. A molecular phylogenetic study published in 2014 found that Amazilia was polyphyletic. In the revised classification to create monophyletic genera, the white-bellied emerald was moved to Chlorestes.
