Feeding Habits
Black-headed Greenfinch primarily consumes insects, often foraging in mixed-species flocks or independently, probing bark crevices and gleaning from surfaces. They display unique adaptability by feeding at army ant swarms and demonstrate competitive behavior at these sites.
Habitat
The black-headed Greenfinch typically inhabits montane and submontane open woodlands comprised of both coniferous and deciduous trees, as well as forest edges. It can also be found in clearings, alpine meadows, and scrub on open hillsides adjacent to cultivated lands.
