Description
The Vietnamese greenfinch is 13.5 to 14 cm (5.3 to 5.5 in) in length and weighs between 15 and 16 g (0.53 and 0.56 oz). It has a large conical bill, a black head and a narrow bright yellow collar. The plumage of the female is similar to that of the male but is less brightly coloured.

Feeding Habits
Vietnamese Greenfinch's primary diet consists of Khasi pine seeds and occasional insects. Vietnamese Greenfinch forages in trees and bushes, seldom on the ground, and captures newly hatched termites mid-flight. Typically feeds in pairs or small groups.
Habitat
The vietnamese Greenfinch typically resides in open pine woodlands, predominantly featuring Khasi pine, as well as at forest edges and in secondary growth. This species is also found around cultivated areas and in gardens within broader temperate regions, favoring habitats associated with vegetation indicative of human-modified landscapes.
