Description
The least nighthawk (Chordeiles pusillus) is a species of nightjar in the family Caprimulgidae. It is found in northern South America. Its natural habitats are dry savanna and subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland. It is the smallest Caprimulgiformes, at 16 centimetres (6.3 in).

The least Nighthawk typically resides in open savannas, as well as subtropical and seasonally wet or flooded grasslands with interspersed trees and scrub. Its preferred environments include areas of cerrado and caatinga vegetation. Additionally, it can be found in forest edge clearings where savanna and scrubland are present.
