Description
The sand-coloured nighthawk (Chordeiles rupestris) is a species of nightjar in the family Caprimulgidae. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, rivers, and heavily degraded former forest.

Habitat
The sand-colored Nighthawk is typically found in lowland riverine environments. Its preferred habitats are sand bars and sandy islands within these areas. Additionally, it can be found over oxbow lagoons and in close proximity to human settlements, such as airfields and villages, as long as these are adjacent to river systems.
