Description
The dusky sunbird (Cinnyris fuscus) is a species of bird in the family Nectariniidae. This relatively dull sunbird is found in arid savanna, thickets and shrubland (e.g. Karoo) in Angola, Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa.

Feeding Habits
Dusky Sunbird primarily feed on insects and nectar, foraging in pairs or groups, occasionally forming large aggregations. They forage from a variety of plants including Aloe and Acacia, and exhibit unique behaviors like hawking for insects and hovering in front of flowers. They also drink from water pools.
Habitat
The habitat of dusky Sunbird encompasses a variety of dry regions, notably semi-arid coastal plains with the presence of sand dunes but typically avoids pure sandy deserts. These birds are predominantly found in areas dotted with acacia scrub alongside watercourses, inselbergs adorned with sparse bush coverage, and scrub-covered hillsides. Furthermore, dusky Sunbird frequent man-made environments such as orchards and gardens, adapting well to cultivated areas.
