Description
The pearly-breasted cuckoo (Coccyzus euleri) is a species of cuckoo in the family Cuculidae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Suriname, Peru and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest. It does not occur above an elevation of 2000 meters. It can easily be confused with the yellow-billed cuckoo. The status and even the general distribution of this scarce cuckoo remain very poorly understood. This cuckoo is hunted.

Feeding Habits
Pearly-breasted Cuckoo primarily feasts on insects, with caterpillars being a significant part of its diet. Its foraging strategy involves actively searching for prey. Unique dietary preferences or adaptations were not specified.
Habitat
The pearly-breasted Cuckoo predominantly inhabits tropical lowland evergreen and secondary forests, thriving in areas with high canopy and dense undergrowth. These habitats span from coastal regions to inland terrains across several broad geographical regions, which include the Amazon Basin and nearby river-associated ecosystems such as gallery and river-bluff forests. Additionally, the pearly-breasted Cuckoo inhabits sandy woodland, tropical dry forests, and scrub areas, preferring elevations typically up to 900 meters but occasionally extending to 1200 meters. The bird is also found in less dense Cerrado habitats, secondary edge habitats, and even coastal mangrove fringes and savanna forests, indicating its adaptability to different types of forested environments in tropical South America.
