Feeding Habits
Capped Conebill primarily consumes insects, foraging individually, in pairs, or small groups. Often found in mixed-species flocks, it gleans food from high foliage, using a distinctive crouching and twisting movement while flicking its tail.
Habitat
The capped Conebill thrives in high humidity montane forests, often near forest fringes, and exhibits a preference for older, disturbed vegetation. It is also associated with areas where Alnus trees grow in landslide-affected regions and is commonly found in more mature secondary growth environments within broader mountainous regions.
