Feeding Habits
Jamaican Pewee primarily consumes insects, employing sallying flight to capture prey. It showcases unique adaptation in its foraging technique, darting from perches to snatch insects mid-air, often at dawn or dusk.
Habitat
Jamaican Pewee typically inhabits forested environments, favoring interior woodland areas rather than the edges or clearings. These birds are predominantly found at mid-elevation to montane altitudes, adapting to life in regions that reach up to 2000 meters above sea level. While forests are their mainstay, they may occasionally be observed in openings beneath the forest canopy.
