Description
The olive spinetail (Cranioleuca obsoleta) is a species of bird in the family Furnariidae. It is found in northeastern Argentina, southern Brazil, and eastern Paraguay. Its natural habitats are temperate forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is known to hybridize with Cranioleuca pyrrhophia in Southern Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Olive Spinetail's diet consists mainly of arthropods. Typically foraging in pairs within mixed-species flocks, olive Spinetail searches for food in the mid-storey to canopy levels of forests. They employ an acrobatic approach, hitching along branches and utilizing their tails for support while ascending. Olive Spinetail deftly gleans prey from moss, epiphytes, and bark.
Habitat
The olive Spinetail typically inhabits humid forests and secondary growth areas, including regions with Araucaria woodland. These birds are found in lowland areas but can also occupy habitats that rise from near sea-level environments.
