Description
The streaky seedeater (Crithagra striolatus) is a species of finch in the family Fringillidae. It is found in Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.

Feeding Habits
Streaky Seedeater primarily consumes small seeds, berries, and insects including aphids, termites, and beetle larvae. It actively forages alone or in small groups, both on the ground and at mid-height in vegetation, often joining mixed-species flocks outside the breeding season.
Habitat
Streaky Seedeater occupies diverse high-altitude habitats in East Africa, ranging from montane woodlands to alpine moorlands. Adapted to elevation zones from 1,300–4,300 meters, streaky Seedeater is found in environments such as forest edges, secondary forests, and heathlands. This bird species also shows ecological flexibility by inhabiting human-modified settings like gardens and urban areas.
