Feeding Habits
Long-tailed Woodcreeper primarily feeds on invertebrates, capturing them through adept climbing and probing into bark crevices on trees. Long-tailed Woodcreeper exhibits specialized foraging techniques characterized by their agility and long tail support.
Habitat
Long-tailed Woodcreeper typically inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland and foothill forests, predominantly thriving in the interior of mature forests. They can also be found in forest edges or older second growths and occasionally in treefall gaps. In terms of elevation, long-tailed Woodcreeper generally resides from lowlands up to 1700 meters, with some variation across its range. This species is more common in foothills within certain regions, and while Amazonian populations are usually below 500 meters, those along the Andean slopes can be found at higher elevations, reflecting subspecies adaptations to diverse forest habitats.
