Feeding Habits
Cinnamon-throated Woodcreeper predominantly consumes arthropods like beetles and locusts, occasionally pecking at fruit clusters. Typically found foraging alone from tree mid-levels to canopies or joining mixed-species groups, cinnamon-throated Woodcreeper gleans and probes dense vegetation and palm fronds for prey.
Habitat
The cinnamon-throated Woodcreeper primarily resides in the humid Amazonian forests, which include terra firme and seasonally flooded regions, as well as forested sand ridges and savanna-adjacent forests within the Guiana Shield. It prefers habitats such as forest edges, successional growth areas, and secondary forests with mature vegetation, typically in proximity to bodies of water. The cinnamon-throated Woodcreeper has a predilection for palm trees and can uniquely be found on Amazon river islands, occupying mature and Cecropia-dominated forests.
