Description

The yellow-sided flowerpecker (Dicaeum aureolimbatum) is a species of bird in the family Dicaeidae. It is endemic to Sulawesi and adjacent islands in Indonesia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Yellow-sided Flowerpecker's diet includes spiders, insects, mistletoe fruits, small figs, and wild cherries, with possible nectar and pollen. Typically squeezes larger fruits before ingestion and wipes its bill post-feeding. Forages in middle storey trees, either solitarily, in pairs, or small groups, and may be displaced by D. celebicum.
Habitat
Yellow-sided Flowerpecker thrives in a variety of forested environments including both primary and tall secondary forests. They are also common in transitional zones such as forest edges, and demonstrate adaptability to human-altered landscapes, including woodlands, agricultural areas, plantations, scrublands, thickets of Lantana camara, and gardens. They inhabit broader geographical regions where these habitat conditions are met.
