Description
The golden-eyed flowerpiercer (Diglossa glauca), also known as the deep-blue flowerpiercer, is a species of bird in the tanager family Thraupidae. It is found in humid Andean forests in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. It is the only species of flowerpiercer with bright yellow eyes.

Typically foraging within mixed-species flocks, golden-eyed Flowerpiercer actively searches for insects in bromeliads and on moss-covered branches. Despite a hooked bill for piercing flowers, golden-eyed Flowerpiercer is infrequently observed feeding on nectar.
Habitat
The typical habitat for golden-eyed Flowerpiercer encompasses humid to wet, mossy forests, often referred to as cloud forests, as well as the moist borders adjoining these woodlands.
