Description
The buff-breasted mountain tanager (Dubusia taeniata) is a species of Neotropical bird in the tanager family Thraupidae. It is found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

The buff-breasted Mountain Tanager primarily resides in elfin forests and montane evergreen forests. Its presence is also notable in temperate forest borders, Polylepis woodlands, and shrubby clearings. Typically found within the understory or mid-level vegetation, buff-breasted Mountain Tanager favors low dense vegetation, including shrubs and bamboo, often near the tree line of slanted forests.
