Description
The sierran elaenia (Elaenia pallatangae) is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae.

Feeding Habits
Sierran Elaenia primarily feeds on insects and a variety of fruits, including mistletoes, melastomes, Rubus, and Coriaria. It forages by perch-gleaning in foliage across forest layers, often joining mixed-species flocks, and tends to sit quietly and upright when not active.
Habitat
Sierran Elaenia is commonly found in humid montane forests, particularly at the edges and in shrubby clearings. This species thrives in brushy pastures and stunted montane scrub near rocky openings. It also inhabits areas of second-growth vegetation, especially those dominated by the plant family Melastomataceae.
