Feeding Habits
Godlewski's Bunting's diet varies seasonally; seeds, particularly grasses, dominate outside breeding times, shifting to various invertebrates during breeding. Godlewski's Bunting forages mainly on the ground, occasionally in small to moderate-sized flocks, and may mix with similar species.
Habitat
Godlewski's Bunting typically resides in temperate shrubland environments, which are prevalently bushy and rocky mountainous or hilly slopes, as well as ravines often adjacent to forests. These birds tend to avoid higher mountain regions, favoring montane steppe zones particularly in Central Siberia and rocky meadow-steppes where they may remain year-round. Godlewski's Bunting is less common within larch and pine forested slopes and valleys of rocky areas. During the non-breeding season, godlewski's Bunting can be observed in lowland territories frequenting agricultural fields and farmland.
