Description
The glowing puffleg (Eriocnemis vestita) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae. It is found in the Andes of Colombia, Ecuador, northern Peru and western Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forest and heavily degraded former forest.

Feeding Habits
Glowing Puffleg primarily feeds on nectar from short corolla tube plants and catches insects by hawking. It defends food sources territorially and can hover, perch, or cling to flowers while feeding.
Habitat
The glowing Puffleg typically inhabits the edges of upper montane forests within cloudforest and dwarf forest ecosystems. This bird species is also found in various other habitats including bushy slopes, overgrown pastures, and humid páramo environments rich in shrubbery like Pernettya and Hypericum. It is occasionally observed in more densely forested areas in the subtropical zone.
