Feeding Habits
Indigo Flycatcher primarily consumes small invertebrates like beetles, along with fruits and berries. Foraging individually or in pairs, indigo Flycatcher also joins mixed-species flocks post-breeding. Indigo Flycatcher forages low in undergrowth to mid-canopy, gleaning insects from leaves and catching them mid-flight, less frequently from open perches, and hovers to pluck berries.

The indigo Flycatcher favors montane and submontane habitats, predominantly consisting of primary moss forests and highland scrub. This bird species commonly inhabits areas with a concentration of Agathis and other coniferous woodlands within broader geographical regions that are rich in evergreen forest coverage.
