Description
The green-chinned euphonia (Euphonia chalybea) is a species of bird in the family Fringillidae. It is found in far northeastern Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Feeding Habits
Green-throated Euphonia primarily feed on fruits, including epiphytic Rhipsalis cactus fruits and pokeweed berries. They also consume insects such as caterpillars and spiders. Typically foraging in pairs or small groups, green-throated Euphonia may join mixed-species flocks at forest borders and fruiting trees, searching branches for food.
Habitat
The green-throated Euphonia predominantly inhabits lush, humid forests, which includes the wooded fringes, as well as areas of tall secondary vegetation. These birds are also found in clearings that are dotted with sizeable trees, primarily thriving in lower elevation forested regions.
