Description
The yellow-crowned euphonia (Euphonia luteicapilla) is a species of bird in the family Fringillidae. It is found in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama, and is perhaps the most common euphonia in its range. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and heavily degraded former forest.

Habitat

It is often encountered along forest edges, clearings, and scrubby environments. Generally, this species avoids dense forest interiors, opting for lower elevation zones and foothills up to about 900 meters, though in some regions it might inhabit altitudes up to 1600 meters.
