Feeding Habits
Orange-crowned Euphonia primarily consumes small berries and fruits. Often foraging alone or in pairs within trees in open areas, it may join tanager–honeycreeper flocks. Its arboreal feeding behavior resembles that of its congeners.
Habitat
The habitat of orange-crowned Euphonia encompasses a variety of semi-open areas, which include parks, tree-lined streamsides, and scattered trees in dry valleys with deciduous forests. It is also found along the edges of semi-humid and wet forests, as well as in humid clearings with trees. These birds prefer drier habitats and are more commonly observed in regions characterized by a mix of modest vegetation and open spaces.
