Description
The yellow-whiskered greenbul or yellow-whiskered bulbul (Eurillas latirostris) is a species of the bulbul family of passerine birds. It is found in western and central Africa. Size
17 cm
Feeding Habits
Yellow-whiskered Greenbul consumes fruits, arils, and berries, various arthropods, gastropods, and small vertebrates like frogs and geckos. Solitary, but joins groups at fruiting trees, feeds at lower levels using horizontal perches, and employs sallies and air-hovering to forage.
Habitat
The yellow-whiskered Greenbul predominantly resides in a range of forested environments, including primary and secondary forests, gallery forests, as well as regions where forest and savanna ecosystems intersect. Adaptability allows it to inhabit dense thickets, overgrown plantations, and areas undergoing regeneration post-cultivation. Its presence also extends to large gardens that have ample vegetation cover, proving its versatility in various vegetative conditions within broader tropical regions.
