Description
The yellow-rumped flycatcher, Korean flycatcher or tricolor flycatcher (Ficedula zanthopygia) is a species of flycatcher found in eastern Asia. A distinctive species with almost no look-alike other than the narcissus flycatcher. It breeds in eastern Asia including parts of Mongolia, Transbaikal, southern China, Korea and western Japan. They winter in parts of the Malay Peninsula and South Asia.

Feeding Habits
Yellow-rumped Flycatcher primarily consumes insects, especially during breeding season, with a hunting technique of catching prey mid-flight. Occasionally supplements its diet with berries. It exhibits adept aerial maneuvers, utilizing perches to scan for food and darting out to snatch insects.
Habitat
The yellow-rumped Flycatcher resides in broadleaf evergreen forests and riparian woodland, preferring areas with dense vegetation. Adapted to human-altered landscapes, they inhabit parks and gardens with specific trees like Albizzia falcataria. They also occupy mixed and secondary forests, plantations, and up to 1000 meters in elevation. During migration, the yellow-rumped Flycatcher uses lowland and coastal forests, foothills, montane zones, and mangroves.
