Description
The grey-hooded fulvetta (Fulvetta cinereiceps) is a bird species in the family Sylviidae. Like the other typical fulvettas, it was long included in the Timaliidae genus Alcippe. Formerly, F. cinereiceps was known as Manipur fulvetta, the birds properly referred to with this name have been split off and are now usually treated as a distinct species, F. manipurensis. Another former subspecies of F. cinereiceps that is nowadays usually considered distinct is the Taiwan fulvetta (F. formosana). Its natural habitat are temperate forests. It is not considered threatened by the IUCN.

Feeding Habits
Grey-hooded Fulvetta primarily consumes insects, caterpillars, and small molluscs, foraging with agility akin to tits. It has specialized in active search for food, demonstrating unique feeding techniques.
Habitat
Grey-hooded Fulvetta typically inhabits dense underbrush and bamboo thickets within broadleaf, spruce, fir, and maple forests. It is also found in areas of secondary growth and scrub, as well as regions characterized by brambles and bamboo clusters. The bird favors forested areas, adapting well to both mature and regenerating woodlands.
